Þingvellir, otherwise known as Thingvellir, is the national shrine of Iceland. The waters in and around the park are amazing spots for scuba diving and fishing. The regular flow of water into Þingvallavatn, Iceland’s largest lake, has turned out to be a great habitat for fish and other water creatures. Some of the species to be found in the lake include the three-spine stickleback, Arctic charr and the brown trout. Take a walk around the old parliament site and go diving at Silfra, which is considered one of Iceland’s best diving spot with an international standards. Before diving, there are requirements to be met as regards equipment and qualification. You have to agree to abide by all rules and regulations of the National Park.
